Job Title: Portfolio Monitoring & Insights Actuary / IFRS Actuary
Contract Length: 6 months
Location: London (50% onsite)
Rate: Inside IR35
A leading reinsurance company is seeking an experienced Portfolio Monitoring & Insights Actuary to join their team on a 6–month contract. This role is critical in accelerating high–priority deliverables for the Life & Health (L&H) Reinsurance portfolio across multiple regions, including Continental Europe, UK & Ireland, and the Middle East & Africa.
Key Responsibilities:
- Portfolio Monitoring: Proactively monitor the performance of L&H portfolios, covering lines such as mortality, critical illness, disability, and medical products.
- Deep Dive Analysis: Conduct investigations to understand the key drivers of portfolio performance and identify risks.
- Management Actions: Lead the execution of actions, including in–force rate reviews and material recaptures, to steer business decisions and ensure sustainable profitability.
- Data Analytics: Utilise data analytics and visualisation tools to communicate performance insights and highlight areas requiring attention.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with Client Market, Pricing teams, and Valuation teams within the Continental European market to drive portfolio priorities and mitigate risks.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of IFRS17 with hands–on experience in Valuation, Pricing, or Experience Studies.
- Modelling: Experience in formulating assumptions and developing or adjusting cashflow models.
- Independent Thinker: A strategic, independent thinker with a hands–on approach to deliver value and drive key portfolio actions.
Desired Qualifications:
- Qualified Actuary with at least 2–3 years post–qualification experience.
- Minimum of 8+ years working within the L&H insurance or reinsurance sector.
- Fluency in an additional European language is an advantage, though not essential.
