Accounts Technician Apprentiship (Levels 3 & 4)

JS2 is a unique and innovative firm of Chartered Accountants working almost exclusively with not for profit sector, providing outsourced finance solutions. We act as Finance Directors for many clients and provide payroll, finance support, and management / statutory accounting services.

The company has grown consistently on the back of its market reputation and now has a team of about 40 staff.

The Accounts Technician will embark on a structured training programme combining study with working for more experienced trainees under the overall direction of a number of Client Managers in our busy accounts team. Accounts Technicians will have a 30 month training contract to study the new levels 3 and 4 AAT qualification under the Government apprenticeship scheme.

Duties of the Accounts Technician role are as follows.

• Supporting the Accounts Team in providing an excellent service for a portfolio of clients where we provide outsourced accounting:
• Technical – on-the-job training will enable you to gain an understanding of the basic aspects of accountancy
• Develop an understanding of our clients
• Assist more experienced trainees and the Client Managers in preparation of management and statutory accounts and audit files
• Become familiar with the range of accounting software solutions
• Obtain information and resolve queries with client staff, building relationships with key contacts
• Professional communication and (self) management
• Work as part of a team to undertake a variety of accountancy tasks for our diverse client base

Accounts Technician Person Specification: Minimum 3 A levels (A-C grade) with a minimum of 120 UCAS points (General studies excluded) and GCSE Maths and English language grade 6, or above,  graduates with non relevant degrees also welcome
